I don't know if this will help in any way. in South AFrica we have a product called Blu52. From my understanding it is a copper based sanitizer. I have heard from a few users that when they tried using an chlorine shock treatment in conjunction with the product that overnight their pools where often badly stained. I have no idea if this has any relevance to your situation but I hope it helps.

I have been looking at various swimming pool safety products for a new swimming pool. The obvious ones include a safety net and pool fence. Someone has suggested a pool alarm that sounds as soon as a child enters the water. Obviously it's a little late once the kid has fallen in but the idea is that if there are a bunch of people at the pool it is possibly a good way to prevent a drowning from happening in front of everyone. Are there any thoughts on a good system to use and whether this type of product has any value?
