  1. I have just gone through a 2 week nightmare with the same exact experience.... plus some. Your pool really does need to be completely level or else it will put too much pressure on one side and could collapse. Intex instructions state not to use sand for leveling, yet everybody I called said to use sand. However, I know why Intex says not to do this. The sand under your pool will start washing away. I started off putting 30 bags of sand under mine to try to level it out. Then half of the pool sank by a full foot. I brought in 3 TONS of sand. Filled it up and same exact problem! So then I bought concrete blocks and put under the metal poles on the "low side." That made it a little better, but sand will still wash out as it rains and gets wet. Just be VERY VERY careful. It's not completely safe and may not make it thru the summer, depending on how bad your ground was originally uneven. Just don't depend on the sand to keep you safe.
