I don't want to name names and say who we're using. But so far, I'm not pleased with the "stories" I'm getting from our pool company as to when the pool will be installed. Here's what's transpired (trying to make this short):
Last fall, I was told that we had to give $20,000 for the pool, because they ordered it and our salesman would be fired if the pool sat on the company's grounds all winter long without being paid for - so I gave them a check for $20k
On March 19, 2012 I got a call from company saying that my permits were in and clear, but now we're waiting on the pool from the distributor. I was mad, told them that they should already have the pool and why did I give them $20k last fall if they didn't already have the pool? I was told by the sales guy that I had misunderstood him and the $20k was to secure last year's prices. Bologna. That is not true.
Anyway, now I'm getting a bunch of different stories. No one can tell me when the pool will be delivered to Michigan, and no one can give me any approximation as to when they are going to be at my house to install the pool. The salesman asked me "how much notice do you need? Is three days' enough?"
On Monday, March 26, he told me that someone from the company might drive down and get our pool and bring it back up. But he couldn't tell me when that would happen either.
I would really like to be at my house when they do the install, but as it stands, it's March 28 and they can't give me a date that 1) my pool will be in Michigan; or 2) the date that they will be installing it.
I have a contract that they signed last year that says "installation to begin in mid-April, weather permitting." Well, that's 2 weeks away, and our weather here is fantastic.
When do I start making heads roll and complaining? I'm trying to be patient, but I would think that they would be able to give me a date by now for the install.
Thanks.
