  1. I fully understand because this time last year I was at same point. After a lot of research on pools and requirements, I knew that I wanted a Fiberglass Viking/CPC pool due to reliability and depth of size 8 x 18 x 6 deep. Through Viking I was hooked-up with a terrrible builder who was out of Winstom Salem/Charlotte. It's a long, but good story ....but we ended-up getting the pool we needed and building it all ourselves. It can be done. We live near Burlington and if it would help, you could call me at 336-449-4734 where I can share more info. We so love our pool and swiming while it was snowing a few weeks ago was worth it all. You can see it here: http://www.troublefreepool.com/viewtopic.php?t=3978 http://www.troublefreepool.com/viewtopic.php?t=818 the stuff we have in the pool that may also help you is: Viking/CPC 6,500 gal shaphire blue fiberglass shell 0.75 HP Jandy Stealth Pump (Filtration System) 0.75 HP Hayward (booster pump) { this was not needed and wish I had not done so- the enclosure and oversizing of the pool filter makes the difference} 4 HP Speck Pump - Badu Jet StreamII system Jandy CJ250 single cart. Pool Filter Jandy Lite2 LJ125K BTU propane gas heater Solar heater, Aquatherm Sys w/6 panels Hayward Phantom Pool Vac { this was not needed and wish I had not done so- the enclosure and oversizing of the pool filter makes the difference} (A) Jandy 2” Never-Lube 3-port valves (2) ( Jandy 2” Never-Lube 2-port valve (5) (Ck) Jandy 2” Never-Lube Check Values valve (1) © Jandy JVA 2440 Actuators (2) Asahi 4” PVC Butterfly valve w/ flanges (2) Auto Water-Leveler Fiberstar Fiber Optic circumferential lighting Handrails/anchors/cover Jandy Control Interface – PDAP8 Aqualink Jandy Sub-Panel Power Center (6614AP700) Jandy Purelink 7-blade Salt Chlorine Generator Simple 'fish spitter' water accent and (2) Jandy Deck Jets
  2. This is a very interesting thread also because I am doing a DIY fiberglass swimspa with a Badu Swim jet II system in a 18" fiberglass CPC pool. CURRENTLY I was planning to place my 4hp pump about 30ft and 3 ft below grade with 4" butterfly valves on the pressure and suction lines as well as a 4" check-valve inline. But what has me concern is the description you had that it was not significant current from the jets and you are at grade and close to your pool. You are talking about the Badu Jets aren't you? Did you get the PB back to fix the Badu problem and what did they say was wrong? Also, how loud is this pump to you? Is it load and uncomfortable to be in the general area or not? Can you carry-on a normal conversation without raising your voice when it's on? Sorry for all the questions but there are not a lot of folks with your exsperence yet that I have come across. Thanks so much,
