  1. Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone can help with my problem with the breaker tripping? I have a marquis envy 2007. It is a convertible model running on 110v hardwired with a 20amp gfci breaker. Recently it stared tripping the breaker anytime the pump is turned on. If you press jets it trips. If you unplug the pump from the board you can press the jets button and hear clicking on the board as you would pressing any other button but it doesnt trip. If I leave the pump plugged to the board and unplug the heater sensors from SA and SB it doesnt trip or course and just gives me "error SA or SB" depending on which is not plugged. My suspicion is the heater? Any opinions? Thanks in advance! .
  2. Thanks, I'm the same height so that's valuable information. I assume you're happy with your Envy (that sounds funny, huh?) or you would have said something.Next concern is the urgency and the price. The guy from the fair is coming over in about 10 minutes to check out the delivery situation. So, I need to decide whether $3,750 plus $300 crane is such a great price that I should abandon the idea of repairing the old spa and get this one right away. Again, thanks for any help. If you get a new one will you sit in it and scold yourself for not giving a full shot at fixing the old one? If so then delay the new one and see if the old one still has life without dumping a lot of cash into it. If getting the new one will not make you feel regretful then go for it but I would NOT in any way make my decision based on the salesperson convincing you that this is a one time deal (even if true which it more often than not isn't). If you go back in 2 months saying you're ready now I suspect the deal will be there for you and I'd take that chance it would be if I really wanted to give the old one a shot first. I would agree about not rushing and feeling pressured by the price, I can't speak for your area or dealers but where I am it seemed like a price the dealers were willing to stay around? I was down to a Sundance and Marquis round tub. For what it is worth I had quotes of about the same for the new Envy and about 3900 for the Sundance Denali. The Envy price was gotten at a "fair/homeshow" and was a little bit pressured, while the Sundance dealer just told me to come in when ready and they would be happy to work with me and hold that price. They were quite nice and made me feel comfortable. I am happy with the tub and I even have it hooked up 110V but I am in a warm climate. That being said I dont love lots of jets and find the Envy plenty good. One thing I would like is the foot jets.
  3. I just bought a used Envy 08' and I can say the "deep" seating area is plenty deep for me (5'11", the water goes just above my shoulders.
  4. Dr. Spa Thanks for the heads up. This is exaclty what I have outside on my patio: http://www.lowes.com/pd_40950-76863-U010S010GRP_0_?productId=3128737&Ntt=outdoor+gfi&Ntk=i_products_cascade&pl=1&currentURL=/pl__0__s?newSearch=true$Ntt=outdoor%20gfi
  5. My outlet is installed to code as an outdoor GFI, so I guess since I've never seen a 110v spa without that GFI on the cord I just wondered. Obviously a suitable cord without the GFI inline or on the plug is FAR cheaper. I am no electrcian but I thought you didnt want to stack gfi on gfi etc. Thanks for the welcome, I am new to the hot tubbing thing so I am sure I'll have more questions!
  6. Hi everyone, newbie here. I have a Marquis Envy, 110 or 220 convertible. My question is regarding wiring 110V. I have an outdoor dedicated GFI receptacle in a waterproof box. Do I still need to have the cord with the GFI on the plug end? Seems redundant but all the new plug and play tubs have those, I assume to go into a non-gfi outlet?. My tub came from a 220 installation and has no wiring as it sits but I have 110 available in the setup described and might just give it a go to see how I like it. The cords with GFI on the plug end are expensive and I am wondering if they are necessary if the outlet is GFI as I mentioned. It is about 15 feet from the tub around a corner of the house as well. Thanks!
