  1. Hi, Our marcite was old so we had the pool resurfaced with fiberglass. Looks great. The resin smell during the resurfacing was really strong. It's been a few days now since the pool has been filled and the water itself still has a strong resin smell to it. Is this normal with a newly resurfaced fiberglass pool? I asked at our local Pinch a Penny and 3 of the workers there said they had no idea if that was normal or not, so that was no help. The guy that did the pool has been doing them for 20 years and said that the pool could be filled within hours after he put on the gel coat, which is what he did. There doesn't seem to be any problem other than the smell. I would think it would be hard for the pool NOT to smell for a little while since the resin smell was so strong all around the pool when the work was being done. Hope some of you have knowledge of this and know if that's normal or not. Thanks
