  1. Thanks for the Hindsight. I'll take it one further, I should have gone gunite or fiberglass!
  2. Greetings. Just finished a 16 x 36 metal wall (Cardinal system) vinyl pool 3.5' to 5.5' deep. As a newbie and one who spent most of my pool life in public pools and gunite/tile, I am just going to ask what might be an ignorant question. Is it normal to have "footprints" and dimples all over the base? I know it's a sand base, but I was told the "weight" of the water would force the sand to a compressed state. That being said, I was HORRIFIED to turn on the pool light for the first time the other night after just 3 or 4 swim days and noticed that the bottom of the pool looked like the surface of the moon. Not deep depressions but highly noticeable. Is this normal? Is this the concession you make when going with vinyl? Was it not compacted enough? Thanks!
