I had the same problem 2 years ago. It is iron in our well water and the chlorine. Cheapest fix was old white cotton socks. I put one on the inlet with a rubber band and one over the filter basket. I had to change them every couple of hours for a day, then water started to clear and the socks were not as orange. The great thing was that I could rinse out the socks, wash them in Iron Out, and reuse them. I also had to swap out the filter quite often and rinse it out. I did cut the top of a sock off and put it over the filter that seam to help too. I read one lady fills her pool with a pillowcase full of cotton fluff tyed to the end of the hose. might be worth a try next time. Good Luck!
