  1. This spa ran great for quite a few years, but I have been having problems with this spa for a few months. If I set the temperature to 104, the temp will vary from ~102-108. It is normally too high. It seems that whenever the filter/ozonator is running (2hrs x 2 times a day) the heater is also running. I haven't got my meter to the heater at the right time to test my theory, but that is what the spa acts like. Over the last three years, I have replcaed the heater, the control pad, and the two stage pump to repair other issues. I also have to replace the start up capacitor on the two speed motor every 6 months or so. I don't remember that this issue started after replacing any of these parts, but it is possible. Does anyone have any ideas, or any troubleshooting steps that I can take to help figure this out? I love the spa, but never know for sure what the temp is going to be when I want to get in! Thank you, Ron
  2. My 2 speed pump on my Caldera C45 sometimes will not start in slow speed (it'll hum only), thus kicking out the controls and stopping all the cycles on the tub. I have tested the capacitor and it is fine. The exact motor/pump for the spa is $450+ http://www.spaandpoolstore.com/73023.html Is there any reason why this one won't work? http://www.amazon.com/Waterway-Speed-230V-Pump-3421221-1A/dp/B009CI43LI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1362092546&sr=8-1&keywords=3421221-1A#productDetails I am looking for a reasonable cost replacement. I don;t mind going ahead and putting a new pump on the spa, It is about 6 years old. Any other ideas, options, or assistance is appreciated! Ron
  3. I don't have any information on that particular model, but I have owned a Caldera C45 for the past two years and I am very happy with it. It has terrific build quality and we have had no issues at all with it. Ron
  4. It's been two weeks since I switched over, and so far, I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! The chlorine smell that was funky to me disappeared 2 or 3 days after I switched over. I Dichlored again last Saturday and I only detected the smell for one day, and only when initially opening the cover. I dichlored again last nite, and have noticed no smell at all. I have not had to add much MSP, either. I was expecting to add 2 Tbs a day, and I am only adding ~ 1 tsp a day. My levels are staying in the 'OK' on my test strips, and my water is clear as a bell! Thank you guys so much for your help. I only have one little issue. I have a small brownish/orange stain that developed near my skimmer housing, and also on a couple of jets near the housing as well. I am pretty sure they popped up just after changing my water, and have not 'grown' any since then. Any idea what that might be? Ron
  5. My package came in this morning. I ran some flush thru the tub, and then I completely drained and refilled it. I balanced the water and added 2 tbs of dichlor. I installed my nature2 'thing' and got it back up and running. I'll post more information as I have it. Thanx, Ron
  6. I hope N2 works out for you. If not, Baq will be your last stop. Let us know everything works out. It'll take at least a week for my supplies to get here. I'll report back as soon as I get a couple of weeks into the Nature2 method. Thank you, Ron
  7. I ordered my supplies for Nature2 last nite. I hope it is the answer I am looking for! Thanx for all your help, Ron
  8. I actually have been considering that very seriously. But I am worried that the Di-chlor once a week (ish) will still be an issue. hmmm..... Ron
  9. Hi guys. To make a long story short, my sense of smell for chlorine or a part of it changed about a year ago. Now when I smell chlorine it stinks. When my wife washes whites with bleach in the house, I can't stand it, and my tub is not as enjoyable to me. I switched my Caldera C45 from chlorine to bromine a couple of weeks ago, and the smell is no better. My son and wife smell the chlorine smell, but it is not offensive to them like me. I don't have many issues with cloudy water, etc. I am thinking of changing to baquaspa and seeing if that helps. What I am wondering is if I need to use baquaspa brand for EVERYTHING? I already have pH up, pH down, alkalinity increaser, etc. for balancing my water. Can I still use them to balance the water, or must I use something specific for biguanide? I know I need to use the baquaspa sanitizer, oxidizer, and waterline control. Anything else? Thanks in advance!! Ron
