Fiberglass pools will go in easily pretty much anywhere other than concrete and other type of pools and if leveled and installed right, there is rarely a issue... After you pick out the size of fiberglass pool you want you really need too be focus on the cosmetics (concrete) thats going to go around the pool, that's where you gonna save or get hurt on the money depending on how big you want your pool deck, what kind of coping, etc. Good luck, and hope you spend alot of money.

It can! but you need to make sure the pavers aren't too big, smaller thinner stone or tile is the best if you have a coping. The problem with this is if you have a very curvy pool it can be tricky and costly for the contractor having to make hundreds of cuts, if you dont have a curvy pool this is soo much easier to work with. Also heavier stone can cause more cracks on the coping since your putting it ontop of the concrete above the coping. But if your concrete deck is ugly due to cracks, etc then go ahead and put pavers on it or do textures.... Just remember if you put pavers down and over time it cracks you just replace the paver, with concrete it's awhole different story! Good luck.

Was it a big pool company or mom and pop business? Hard to say nowa days, they could simply just have gotten the $$$ they wanted and decided to call it a quits or they had some major debt issues (paying back loans, etc) and had to shut down...... What goes up must come down at some point and at some time!!!

Beware Of Modern Exteriors Of Simcoe, Ontario

More of less he's got more work then he can handle and is taking funds to cover other projects like you said either he made a mistake on a job and had to cover the cost or he underbid a job so bad he had to go out and rip someone off to cover for that job....... I use to take install payment when I first started, let them send the big portion of the money to my fiberglass manufacture so they knew I wasn't ripping them off and I wasn't getting the money but the manufacture was (i use to make so many good deals), however sometimes i could not keep a deadline date cause I had too much going on and this really pissed homeowners off, I always got to them and never took there money, looking back on alot of my projects I could have easily just took the money and filed for bankrupt and end up with a bank full of money but being the Christian I am I NEVER did this and gave rather then received. Now I see all these builders taking money, filing for bankrupt, ripping homeowners off, etc etc. It's sad to the pool industry, these guys who do this get away with it too... -

WOW! thats sad a builder would do this to you even with all those references it's one thing if he made a mistake on the job and came back and fixed it but DOWNRIGHT taking your money??? I do know of a contractor who took $30,000 went out, dug a hole and filed for bankruptcy and there wasnt a thing the homeowner could do, the problem with your builder was he more of less went broke and is going out and getting payments and is going to file for bankrupt once he gets what he wants. -
why not!!!!

Whose the manufacture!!? You might be able to find one somewhere on the steps years ago some manufactures use to do this.. Look thru the packet of info you got from the manufacture or look back into your bank account im sure the big check you wrote them will remind them.

Sure you can put pavers on top of the deck!!!! but you might run into problems with making it even with the coping if you have a coping!

There could be alot more then just a compaction problem like your husband think, you can compact, compact, compact till your tamper cant compact no more but when it comes to soil problems i.e. Shrink Swell Soil or just down right bad soil, you can't put all the blame on the contractor. Did the contractor use steel mats or rebar around the concrete decking area and pour thick concrete?? did you get a soil check before getting your pool installed to figure out what kind of soil you all were working with? I once installed a pool in shrink swell soil, I told the homeowner there was going to be better chances for cracks in the concrete no matter what we do but I wanted another $1,000 so I could put big steel mats around the pool, all he wanted to do was save money and didn't want mats around the pool no matter what I told him he just thought I was trying to get more money so a year and half later there was cracks in the concrete not major ones just cracks... And guess who gets blamed? It's like homeowners expect us to control mother nature.... But than again your pool is not a fiberglass pool which is a whole different construction process!! Good luck and i hope you get things fixed right but remember sometimes its just simply not the contractors fault.

Feedback For Pool Contractors In And Around Lancaster, Pa
TimeWrap replied to jojo's topic in All Swimming Pools Types
If you dont want to spend $50,000 then you have to downgrade on the masonry work and pick a smaller pool, just remember you can always expand on masonry later.. If your getting quotes for the pool shell itself and install but not masonry work for $30,000 chances are your going to be in the range of $50,000 by the time its all said and done, You can save alot by just picking out a good contractor who will install the pool for you and get you a good deal on the pool shell but yet won't do the masonry work.. You will save alot by picking say a 14x30, 12x30,etc. Any diving pool like 16x40,18x44,etc is going to run you at least $5,000 more. Anyway good luck! -
I would recommend Joe Ordini he is been in the business (himself) for 30+ years and still going strong I think he installs San Juan and they do turn key jobs... Water World is been in business for about as long too and does turn key jobs only in NJ, Either way with both your going to get good service, but I would recommend Joe he is really a good guy unlike alot of fakers in the business, Joe will give you good workmanship with no BS aside unlike some manufactures.
