  1. "Is the lighting mounted to anything or is it like Malibu lighting?" I don't know what Malibu lighting is. We have a brick house and there are outdoor light fixtures that come out of the brick on either side of the door. They are not within reach from the pool. I really appreciate everyones responses. Now that the pool is filled, sure enough one small part is pressed against one of the brick columns. I put some bubble wrap to cushion it. But I finally got a hold of my dad (who is a home builder) and he has assured me that the pool is fine in regards to my concerns of electricity and pressure on the house. I was not able to get a hold of him yesterday so I really appreciate everyone answering my post. Now, how to warm up our freezing well water that's in the pool so the kids will actually get in!
  2. Thanks for your reply. I'm confused by: "... 110 current is enough to give you a permanent orange afro to say the least to don't fool around with it. My initial reaction is that you are too close. Make sure it is grounded and keep it out of the splash zone." Where does the 110 current come from? Are you saying we are too close to the outdoor electrical outlet? If so, just wanted to mention it has a protective cover over it and nothing is plugged into it. It is over the grassy area and not by the concrete patio. Not sure if that makes a difference or not. Or did you mean we are too close to the lighting fixtures on the house? Also, I have blankets under the pool. I put them there for comfort and to help with abrasion. Maybe these would also help prevent any minerals from concrete from leaching through? Should I turn off the electricity that leads to the basement (the pool is located on the porch outside the basement) when the kids are in the pool so I don't have to worry about the outdoor plug/lighting fixtures? Thanks for your help! Don't want to fry my kids!
  3. I am in the process of filling our 13'x42" Sand N Sun pool which we placed on our concrete patio. There is only an inch of space (maybe slightly more) b/w the pool and the house (only a small section of the pool is actually that close), and on the other side about the same distance exists b/w the pool and the brick column that supports the deck above. Is this cutting it too close? Hubby stated that if after it fills its exerting any pressure on either the house or the column, we're draining it which I agree with. Any thoughts on the pool being so close to the house? Another question regarding electricity. I've read somewhere that wet concrete is very condusive. There are no electrical outlets on the patio, the closest one is 10 feet away. The only electrical items are the lighting fixtures on either side of the door. Is there any danger of my kids getting electricuted? Any other dangers you could think of feel free to mention. This is the second location for the pool. I had it on the ground but there was an 8" difference and after 2 weeks, one side was severly leaning so I drained it and started over. Thank you!
