I am under contract to install a new fiberglass pool in NJ. My town requires dual main drains 3 feet apart, and both plumbed to the some line back to the pump. They also say a safety vacuum release system (svrs) is required. I am looking at the VAC ALERT brand of safety valve. Is this correct? Don't the dual main drains act to relief the vacuum pressure if drain one becomes blocked? I am 100% all for having the pool be as safe as possible for my children. The building dept in my town just doesn't seem that knowledgeable on much about the plumbing aspects of the pool. I think they may be mistaken. Am I right or wrong here? Any thoughts or info are greatly appreciated.
