  1. I have a 07 optima, this winter the waterfall lights(led) started doing some strange stuff. Red LED quit working and sometimes the LED bar would only light 1/2 way. This spring I did some trouble shooting, I checked the connections on lighting box this did not fix problem. I noticed there were lots of different /connections on light supply I/O and zone 1 2 and 3. I also have the aqua terrace controller on the side that con-tolls what color lights are and intensity. I lost track what 3 connectors go where? I assume control panel goes to I/O otherwise I cant turn off lights. and the foot well light goes to a zone and water fall to another. the weird part is the aqua terrace harness is in line with waterfall harness. there are only 3 connectors. Is there one slot or zone that controls another? I have looked all over for info on these light modules and cant find anything? I wonder if my light module is going goofy? Depending what zone I plug waterfall light into I get a different scenario? Thanks for help.
  2. The check valves have to be replaced every year that is why there was water in your loops. Oxidation occurs in ozone generator basically high voltage ionizes air going through it making O2 actually O3 I have installed ozone in my 07 sundance seemed to work good, but took it out after I noticed my pillows started to deteriorate. I also noticed a transparent goop in the loop I assume a bi product of ozone. I gave up on the ozone generator considering It really didn't seem to make a difference. FYI I was told ozone generators do shorten life of pillows and cover. I just make sure I keep up on the chem's now and in winter when I want less chem's (dry skin) I use nature 2. Sundance tubs don't come with ozone because their filtering system is so good it isnt really nessesary.
  3. Assuming you have a calcium hardness around 100, your water would be calcite saturation index balanced at about -0.16 CSI. If you bring the PH to 7.4 it would be 0.03, which is even better. My understanding is that a high TA isn't bad per se, but will make moving the PH harder when you want to adjust it (that's why you have to add so much acid to move the PH even a little). Put all your numbers in the pool calculator and see if your CSI is good. If so, and if your PH is stable over time, don't worry about the high TA. I guess I should have mentioned calcium hardness is about 200 to 220
  4. I tested my tap water 7.2 PH and 246 TA It always seems like I have to dump a ton of PH decreaser in after I refill. Anyone know of a better way? Is using liquid acid more effective than powder ( I guess will I use less or is it cheaper) Is there any other products that might help with this situation. I found it funny the tap ph is ok but ta is sky high?
  5. I have the same situation, I Love clean water. I dont like to request guests take showers. I had a party with with signs in bathrooms to please shower if you have hairspray or perfume ect if you plan on using spa. No one did! Hairspray is the foam maker! One of my wifes friends had a wedding updoo with ton of spray. next day I had ton of bubbles! Really cheesed me off!! Anyway When I have guest over I always increase sanitation! And shock about every two hours if the tub is continualy open with guests I use the aroma shock from zodiac so they dont realize I am adding chems they think it is for the aroma! i love that stuff
  6. Ive been looking to get a taylor kit, I noticed there are a few different variations? What can the 2006 kit do that the 2005 cant
  7. I tried Gentle spa and put appropriate amount in newly filled tub. I love the way the water felt, now it has been a few weeks and the water feels normal. Is it necessary to have to keep adding a borate product to keep water silky? Will tub filters trap some of the borates in them; I have a Sundance 880 with the new two stage micro ban filter? Just wondering
  8. Have you guys read this thread I started http://www.poolspaforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18699 It may spark some other ideas especially if your water is in top notch condition. My wife's problem is solved and was actually caused by medication she was taking?? thread name is( I Love My Hot Tub Everyone That Uses It Is Fine But My Wife Getts Itchy And Bumpy )
  9. I read your post and about fell over. I too am on simvastatin as was suffering from a very itchy rash on my lower legs and sometimes the sides of my abdomen. I first thought it was an allergy to MPS, stopped using it. Then maybe chlorine, doubted that, but lowered my FC levels anyway, no help. Then I read your post, held off on my meds for the last four days and wow, the rash and/or itchiness has subsided. The rash part was minor, but the itch at times was insane. I even thought it was severe dry skin, but constant moisturizing didn't help. Has her doctor prescribed a different med? I'm heading to mine this week to see if I can try another. I am still going to give it a few more days to make my final conclusion, but what a difference so far. Ken She still hasnt made a final conclusion either, Right now she has virtually no side affects from our hot tub. got a tad of a itch under arms the other nite but NOTHIN compared to what it was a few months ago. I coulda swore she had the chicken pox after she got out ! THat medication also gave her hot flashes every now and then (turned bright red and all) She is gona go back to doc to get checked to even see if she needs any colestorol meds I don know there is a lot of medication out there that will make U senstive to sun ect... I guess people should keep that in mind with hot water too!! Personally I am so very happy she can go back in the hot tub. Our whole family enjoys it so much This is a great forum with very helpfull people thank you all!
  10. I think we have solved the problem!!! MY wifes cholestorol meds caused all the problems!! She decided to stop taking them and now she is fine no itch no red no problems I dont recomend anyone to stop using a certain med but in this case her meds made her skin go wacko in hot water! I guess keep this in mind if anyone is having problems that some meds can make u sensitive to sun, heat and other things. I belive she was sweating out somthng from the med and itchy itch itch would happen, Med she was on was simistatin (spelling may be wrong) also nicacin vitamin too (doc said these could give her hot flashes too)
  11. Id check the ribon cable going to pannel if rubber coating is damaged in any area could have shorted to ground and popped fuse? I guess only time will tell 30 A is a lota current depending on what runs on that fuse it could be any item Id start with the simple and inspect wires for wear possibly area with vibration??
  12. 880 is a better series Ive got optima and love it We looked at all models optima is top of line they now have new filter for that tub that is much better than the old style 5-6 fit very comfortable in optima
  13. Sundance just released a new filter for their 880 series it is much better than older it is a two part filter @ 100 bucks for both works great a lot better than previous microban filter ! Its sooo new it isnt even on their website yet!!!!
  14. Ive got a sundance tub, with a ozonator, when the air or jets are turned on the ozone goes off, also on the controll pannel there is a icon for when it is on or not. Ozone dosnt bother me if we sit in tub with no jets on ozinator is running. There are many things that make ozone besides your hot tub. Hair dryers, TV's and expecially anything with high voltage. If your in question if ozone is irritating you. Im guessing you could disconnect power to ozonator, I know sundance tubs dont even come with them but very very easy to install it might be as simple as disconnecting a connector for a week or two and see what happens
  15. Whith today's lovely health care he did not do a culture. I do hate our family clinic! Im almost to the point with health insurance Id rather go to the vet clinic! It is good to know that cultures can be done on that stuff probably not at my clinic there too lazy to get out the med school manual to remember how to do somthing like that. She will be going to a skin doc (dermetologist) next
