The other day I went to check on the Spa and noticed a brown foam scum line along the water line in the Spa. It was like pine tar when I tried to remove it. About 2 months ago we switched to soft soak. Test strips looked good once a week when water was tested. What causes this problem and how to fix it is my question. I've seen this problem refered to, but there seems to be a difference of answers to this issue. Thank you for any answers to this question.

its the sanitizer and PH. When the PH is high, and the sanitizer is high, it clumps. I had the same problem. Adjust the PH and keep the sanitizer within normal range. Good luck.

welcome to one of cons of non-chlorine. try cutting back on your dosages, especially if your running slightly on the high side of tolerances.
