Jandy Lxi250N Heater Issue (Ignition)

[Canadian]

Jandy LXi250N (240V supply) ignition fault.

Sequence:

-manually open gas supply
-turn on heater to pool (water temp 68 set temp 74)
-blower turns on
-after 15 secs the ignighter lights up (visually checked)
-I hear a click about the 1 min mark
-another click at 2 mins
-another click at 3 mins
-no flame ignites during this time
-red led flashes 3 times repeatedly and the ignitor dims
-blower goes through 1min purge cycle then shuts down
-"Check ignition control" is displayed on screen

-haven't noticed the smell of gas yet

Electrical tests performed:

-107V between GND and F1
-107V between GND and ACH1
-transforer voltages D-E 125V, D-F 202V, E-F 105V
-both water pressure wires 25V to GND
-all 4 limit sensor switch wires 25V to GND
-resistance of igniter 69 ohms

All of the above are in range I beleive from reading the LXi manual.

What do I check next?

One thing to mention is that my temp sensor is faulty. So I replaced it with a 20K ohm pot while we wait for the new sensor to arrive. It seems to have worked becuase the screen now sees the water temp at 68 deg. I don't see this as related to the issue but just in case I mentioned it.

Any help with what to do next would be appreciated.

My guess is a stuck gas valve. The solenoid is clicking, but the valve is not opening.

Good call. Guess I figured the clicking was the gas valve opening but a solenoid makes perfect sense. Not smelling gas should have been the first clue.

Hate to admit it but I was pretty ignorant on this one. I didn't know the gas valve had an ON/OFF switch as well. The guys who closed the pool down in the fall must have turned it OFF. I turned it to the ON position and she fired right up.

Well at least I have learned a tonne about this heater in 2 days. Thanks for pointing me at the right part.
