I had turned on my Sta-Rite Pool & Spa heater, for the spa, a month ago. After that, when all the equipment was off the spa water level lowered to half. Now, there seems to be little to no water flow into the pool. The spa is off, all valves are set in pool mode. The pressure on the filter housing is over 25 without a filter in it. Last pool person I had here to check the system believes there's an obstruction in the heater. Does anyone know what could get obstructed in the heater? Can I fix it or is it better to call a tech? The model is a Sta-Rite SR333LP. There are no shut off water valves to the heater. Thank you.

After further troubleshooting, I now believe that the heater is not the problem. We had a salt system installed less than a year ago and it seems that the water flows fine from the heater until it passes the flow switch, there seems to be something right below the switch which says Flow, D2466. I'm not sure if this is a valve but if it i,s then this could be the problem. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your reply. I've checked the cell previously and it's fine. I still think it's this back flow valve below the cell flow switch. I'm having it removed and hopefully that will solve the problem.

What kind of a check valve is it? The flow by-bass in the heater may have broke and it is now stuck in the check valve, does the heater function properly?
