Popeye Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 I have a really old Hydrospa hot tub must be 25 years old at least and shes still going strong. Only issue i have is when you press the button to start the jets and open the two air valves either side of the start button you get quite a loud gurgling sound. Remember this is an old girl so no fancy blowers or ozone stuff just a quartes inch air line that goes from the start button at tub level and down to a little box between the heater and the pump. any ideas how i could at least reduce the gurgling noise. Thanks Quote
Spa_Guru Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 The noise comes from the air dials drawing air into the jets, by replacing the air dials with more modern ones that draw the air from about 1" under the top you eliminate most of the noise. Quote
DanielWalker Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 Check out the condition of ozone hose from the ozone generator to the injectors. There may developed some cracks or holes. Also there are chances for the black tubing to get malfunctioned. If there is some issues, it will suck in additional air, and that can contribute to the noise you are hearing. I also had a similar issue with my hot tub years back. I used standard vinyl tubing to replace it with. It has given us better service than you would expect: some have been running with it now for five years. It turns brown inside, but it seems to stay in place and do the job. You may need to put the ends in a cup of hot water to get them to ease onto the barbed fittings and the check valve. Quote
