I am trying to get an old beachcomber tub running.

The union that came out to supply the pump was leaking where the flexible pipe connects to the pvc union. So the fellow I bought it off got an internal coupler and cut off the flexpipe back a bit and glued some new pvc pipe and a new union on.

Where he tried to glue to the flexpipe didn.t seal. He used the normal pvc glue for this which works ok on smooth pipe but this flexpipe is sort of spiral wound with ridges on the inside and outside.

The original glue job looked like different type of glue.

What do you use to glue to this spiral wound pipe to normal (smooth) pvc

My favorite is IPS795 weld-on

Best - glue - ever.

The pipe is sketchy. Not much contact surface, and the water can take the spirals as a path. I believe there are specific couplings for that type of pipe. Normal slip couplings may not work. I rarely see it, but I'm pretty sure I know what you're referring to.
