I have high combined chlorine in a few pools. Im told that by using a non chlorine shock (oxidizer) shouid heip reduce CC. Im intersted in any comments or results in this treatment... thanx

Are you talking about high bather-load commercial/public pools? Low bather load residential pools that are properly maintained normally do not have much CC -- usually < 0.5 ppm and often < 0.2 ppm. However, one must maintain the appropriate FC/CYA ratio.

Non-chlorine shock only oxidizes some chemicals so could help or it might not. UV is good with controlling inorganic chloramines, but may not handle chlorinated organics like chlorourea. Ozone is also a mixed bag.
