First of all I would like to say that this forum has a wealth of knowledge and is very helpful!

I have an existing Laars pool heater which I am looking to replace. I am looking at Pool Heater Jandy Lxi. What has been people's experience with this line? Also, I have noticed that the heat exchangers come in varying alloys - Bronze copper, cupro nickel and cupro nickel? What environmental variables would affect your alloy choice? Also they further delineate their product line by ASME certification - is this important?

Appreciate the help.

ASME is letting you know that it is approved for commercial applications, most residential heaters are plumbed in PVC, asme is plumbed in copper or galvinized plumbing. I sell the Raypak line also and have for 28 yrs.
