venacava Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 Hello I have an L. A. Spas Oasis tub. I work out of town and the electric had gone off while I was away and had been off long enough that aparently one of the main large pipes coming in/out of the heater unit had froze and broken the 2 piece collar. I replaced that and went over the rest of the tub and found no further damage/leaks. I turned the tub on and it went through its start up cycle, both pumps kicked on and seem to be working. Everything cycled through as normal except where it would normally display the current water temperature on the control panel it did not show anything. As soon as I tough the temperature control button to set it to my desired temperature it pops up the clde FLO on the screen. Quote

Spa_Guru Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 Sometimes with freeze damage you can get a frozen and damaged impeller or pressure switch. With impellers you can get a detached impeller face which reduces flow, or stripped threads. With the filter cartridges out, verify flow by direct observation. If your pressure switch is damaged, replacement is your only option. Flow may also be impeded with a chunk of ice in your intake or pressure lines. Quote
venacava Posted March 9, 2013 Author Report Posted March 9, 2013 I took the 3 filters out, and it is still giving me the FLO code. Now what it has warmed up a bit I do not think there would be any ice in the lines/pump. The jets seem to be at full flow so I believe both pumps are working properly. If it is the pressure switch where is it located and how would I go about changing it? Quote
Spa_Guru Posted March 9, 2013 Report Posted March 9, 2013 If you have a pressure switch it will be screwed into the side or end of the heater, post a pic of your equipment with the cover off and I'll point it out for you. venacava Posted March 11, 2013 Author Report Posted March 11, 2013 When I took a closer look I discovered the part in the picture that had a small tag on it lables "flow switch" it did not thread into the stainless pipe in any way. The flow switch just sat on the pipe with 2 small screw posts with nuts and a small plate that held it down. it appeared that one of the posts had broken off and was causing the piece to sit cock-eyed and was not flush against the pipe. I sat it on the pipe and made sure it was sitting flush and I'm still getting the FLO code. Quote

venacava Posted March 15, 2013 Author Report Posted March 15, 2013 I followed every wire in the unit and could find nothing that looks like the flow sensor in the picture. In the Picture I posted where you can see inside the small panel the wire that come off the piece with the nut at the top when unplugged gives me the HL code which my book showed being an overheat error. On the circuit board where the last piece I posted the picture of plugs in it is labeled "in flow" Quote
