boltonguy Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum as I am just getting started buying my first spa. I like the Sundance brand, the Cameo in particular, but budget constraints mean that I will likely end up buying used as I have not won the lottery lately I have been looking at Craigslist, etc. and have come across two spas and would like the opinion from the forum. #1 is a 2010 Sundance 680 Hawthorne asking $2800 #2 is a 2005 Sundance 880 Majesta asking $2000 I have the Sundance brochure and can see that with the 2012 model year there are substantial differences between the two 800 and 600 lines. My question is how much should the age of the spa factor into my used spa buying decision? Not having done this before I might think that newer is better - but is that a reasonable way to think about this? How long do these spas last? Was there a period of time when quality control suffered after the sale of Sundance (read a bit about this on this forum). I plan to see the spas in person - what should I look for? Anything obvious given this manufacturer and these model years or any checklist in general? Thanks! Boltonguy Quote
Spa_Guru Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 Speaking as a repairman.... NEVER BUY A TUB THAT ISN'T FULL OF HOT WATER!!! If you have followed this advice, then you can try it before you buy it, and make your choice based on what you like. Quote
