mbonham Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 I can't get one right away, but for planning I'm curious as to what people recommend. On the low end of the price range. Thanks ! Quote

Spa_Guru Posted February 25, 2013 Report Posted February 25, 2013 If you have less than $4000 to invest in a spa, get a sauna instead. Less upkeep cost by far. Quote

Agreed: At this point, Spas haven't evolved enough yet to produce a great quality price-point spa. As a dealer, I have learned that lesson the hard way and now would rather pass up on the $4000 than sell a sub-par product. Quote
Spa_Guru Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 You will pay $500-$1000 a year to use a hot tub year round. That is figuring $200 for chems and $300 for electricity. New cover every 5 years - add about $75/yr New filters - varies $30-250/yr depending on if you use disposable. Any accessory designed to reduce maintainence is going to increase the annual cost - some by as much as $1000/yr. Quote
Apollo217 Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 Just out of curiosity what accessory would cost $1000 a year? Quote
Spa_Guru Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 Just out of curiosity what accessory would cost $1000 a year? Pretty much any salt water generation system. $1000-$1500 to buy, then a one year warranty -- and the cells last about a year @ $800 a whack. http://www.poolspaforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37152&hl=%2Bhot+%2Bsprings+%2Bace#entry155115 Quote
