I replaced my pump / motor on my hot tub a couple years ago and it just failed. Seal on motor end of pump failed and took out the bearing. I called the company I got it from and they said the 3 year warranty does not cover that seal. I'm just wondering if this is normal. 2nd question would what would cause it. My 1st pump lasted 7 years. Thoughts?

Pump seals are one of the first things to take a beating if the chlorine level is too high.

Damage to pump seals by chemicals is not covered under warranty by anyone.
