jtb Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 I replaced my pump / motor on my hot tub a couple years ago and it just failed. Seal on motor end of pump failed and took out the bearing. I called the company I got it from and they said the 3 year warranty does not cover that seal. I'm just wondering if this is normal. 2nd question would what would cause it. My 1st pump lasted 7 years. Thoughts? Quote
Dan.The.Spa.Man Posted February 2, 2013 Report Posted February 2, 2013 Most likely chemicals...what do you use? Quote
jtb Posted February 2, 2013 Author Report Posted February 2, 2013 I use "Spa sanitizing granules" from Spa Depot and their PH up / down and shock once a week. That is all I use. Quote
Spa_Guru Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Pump seals are one of the first things to take a beating if the chlorine level is too high. Damage to pump seals by chemicals is not covered under warranty by anyone. Quote
