ReductiMat Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 Hi there, First off, I'd like to say thanks to all those who've put in so much time explaining everything here. I've learnt a ton. One thing I haven't been able to find is the following: "Add 1/2 oz of sodium bromide per 100 gallons of water to create your bromide reserve in the water" I could only source liquid sodium bromide and was wondering if 1/2 oz of sodium bromide granules is the same as 1/2 oz of liquid sodium bromide? Thanks again Quote

ReductiMat Posted February 1, 2013 Author Report Posted February 1, 2013 Thanks, but by the time that reached my door in Canuckistan it'd be four weeks later and triple the cost. All the spa shops around me looked like I was a crazy person asking for pure sodium bromide for a hot tub. One of them hesitantly showed me where they kept their sodium bromide liquid for two part systems, and I snagged that one. It says it's 35% Sodium Bromide if that makes a difference. Quote
chem geek Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 Just add 1/0.35 = 2.86 times as much. So roughly 1.4 fluid ounces per 100 gallons. This assumes the density of the product is roughly the same as water. Quote
ReductiMat Posted February 4, 2013 Author Report Posted February 4, 2013 Thanks chem geek! I was afraid there was more to it than that and didn't want to mess up. Quote
waterbear Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 There should alsp be doing intructions on the bottle that tell you how much to add to create your bromide bank. I would be very surprised if there were not. Quote
waterbear Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 There should also be doing instructions on the bottle that tell you how much to add to create your bromide bank. I would be very surprised if there were not. Quote
