robfdny Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 My inground salt water pool is under 400 sq feet. The previous owner and the pool store near my house use the brand Bioguard. I know next to nothing about pools and was gonna continue to use the same product. i noticed a lot of online stores do not carry this brand. Whats the deal, is it a really good expensive brand & thats why many dont carry it ??? Are they all basically the same? Please any help, much appreciated, on this matter..... thankyou -Robert Quote
PoolGuyNJ Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 Bio-Guard dealer are part of a well marketed group. They use boxes, Add 2 of this, add one of those.... making it somewhat easier but you pay for that. Some of their products add borates. By and large, baking soda is baking soda. Dense ash is dense ash. Muriatic acid is muriatic acid. Using Arm and Hammer brand of the soda and ash can be a lot less money with no loss of capabilities when dosed correctly. Scott Quote
