Rafa1552 Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Hi, I am unable to get my 1400 toproduce any chlorine. The current codes are 171 and 190. I have to this point replaced the sensor and back board. I have gently cleaned my cell with acid and it looks good. I wonder if at this point if it would be better to purchase a new 1400 system before buying a $400 front board and / or $500 cell. My system is about 5 years old. Any advice? Thanks! Quote
Pool Clown Posted July 13, 2012 Report Posted July 13, 2012 Often other components cause an error code that is unrelated to the component being blamed. (Wow, did that make any sense?) The typical life of a cell is 5 years(10,000 hrs). Is the salt level is correct? What is the level? Test should be done with a digital or electronic tester. Not test strips. Quote
