I want a timer which will turn pool lights on and off at a certain time, builder looked perplexed when I asked if there was something besides a "on/off" switch,, he said he did not know, is he being lazy or is there n such thing?

He can add another timer just like the one that controls your filter pump. He will probably want like 500 dollars to do it though. FYI, timer by itself would be about 100-150 dollars.

The salesman must be new. Pool Automation 101: Parts of a pool- A timer switch. If you have an pool sweep, another timer switch. For the lights, a third timer switch. They take wall space so plan. If you have an attached spa, then add an Easy Touch or Jandy RS series controller. They have built in timers that they can turn on and off.all of the preceding and operate the valves in everyday use.

If he is that dumb, I would not let him touch anything for me. You can buy digital timers that control 3 different items such as pump, cleaner, lights. They are around 180.00 and easy to install.

I know did it myself.
