Hi everyone,

I bought a new electric heat pump and I will do the plumbing on it. The heater has 2" fittings but all my plumbing on my existing filter / pump is 1 1/2"

Should I just run 1 1/2 to the heater and then right at the heater install a 2x1 1/2 fitting or should I install a 2 x 1 1/2 fitting back at the pump and run all 2 inch pipe and fittings to the heater?

Thanks for any advice you can give

Lowes will have the 2" to 1/5" reducer bushings you need. Home Depot doesn't carry 2" pressure rated PVC.
