Jackryan57 Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Hi everyone, I bought a new electric heat pump and I will do the plumbing on it. The heater has 2" fittings but all my plumbing on my existing filter / pump is 1 1/2" Should I just run 1 1/2 to the heater and then right at the heater install a 2x1 1/2 fitting or should I install a 2 x 1 1/2 fitting back at the pump and run all 2 inch pipe and fittings to the heater? Thanks for any advice you can give Quote
ed3553 Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Just keep it all 1.5" and at the heater install the 2" x 1.5" fitting. No sense in spending more money on 2" plumbing since the rest of the pool is 1.5" Quote
PoolGuyNJ Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Lowes will have the 2" to 1/5" reducer bushings you need. Home Depot doesn't carry 2" pressure rated PVC. Quote
