ustcer90 Posted June 29, 2012 Report Posted June 29, 2012 First time pool owner here, so please help! This Monday was the first time I used a Polaris 280 to clean my pool. When I turned on the Polaris booster pump, the water was above skimmer line. After running the Polaris for a while(not sure how long), water went down below skimmer and the booster pump was automatically turned off. I put water back to the pool and turned on the Polaris. Then it happened again and water was below skimmer! I have a big pool and it takes me about an hour to drain 1 inch of water from pool using a pump so I don't think it's evaporation. I looked the area around the booster pump and the main pump and couldn't find any trace of water. And I didn't have the same problem running the filtration with main pump on and the booster pump off. Does anyone have an idea about what is wrong and how to fix it? Thanks a lot! Vince Quote
PoolGuyNJ Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Sound like a broken line to me. If it was at the equipment pad, you would have seen it. Hope it isn't too hot to dig! Scott Quote
TomTom Posted August 1, 2012 Report Posted August 1, 2012 You definitely have a very bad leak in your plumbing going from your booster pump to the hook up point for your Polaras. The reason your are loosing so much water is the booster pump causes a lot of pressure for the cleaning and it is litterally squirting your water out. I agree with Scott the line from your booster pump to your pool is either busted or come loose. All you can do it dig it up or have someone do it for you. Hope you don't have much concrete decking over the line. It is most likely close to the pool itself. Tom Quote
