I have a 28' AGP with a sand dollar pump/filter. It is a 120V motor single speed rated at 14A @ 3450RPM. I have access to a pump/motor from a hot tub that is a 240V dual speed 8A/3A @ 3450/175RPM. I do not know the flow rate for either pump. My thought is that I can swap the pool pump/motor with the hot tub pump/motor. My plan is to mount a switch so I will be able to change speeds-low for filtration and high for cleaning with vac. This is what I am hoping to gain from this:

1) Reduced operating cost during filtration 8A vs 14A.

2) Better suction for vaccuum when on high speed.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Mike
