Skioutty Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 This is for an above ground pool. Are PVC fittings and pipe from HomeDepot or Lowes able to be used? Or are they special pressure rated? Or is just the primer and glue different? I'm looking to remote my filter and pump about 12 to 14 feet from the pool. I'm also thinking about useing ball valves and unions for future convenience. PoolGuyNJ Posted April 20, 2011 Report Posted April 20, 2011 For the fittings, use Schedule 40 fittings. They have deeper connections and are normally in a section near the drainage/waste/vent stuff. The clear cement and purple primer are fine. Just give the glue some time to set up. Spend the money on Jandy Never Lube valves or their Pentair equivalent or Praher unioned ball valves. Trust me on this. Scott Quote

Skioutty Posted April 21, 2011 Author Report Posted April 21, 2011 Is there one place better than another for the Jandy valves or is on line best. Quote
PoolGuyNJ Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 If you are doing it yourself, the web is a great resource. If you are bringing in a service pro, please use his, otherwise it's like bringing your own steak to The Outback Restaurant. Scott Quote
