This is a great forum lots of info and differing opinions, we are getting close and have narrowed between 2 models / companies.

There seems to be lots of info mostly bad about the Arctic models, is it all behind them now, with better jets and onzen new model.

We only have a couple of dealers in the area Arctic is 10 min away, seem knowledgeable and friendly. The Beachcomber dealer is just over an hour away and has models on the floor to see, also knowledgeable and family run multi-generational business.

Is it a case of higher volume sales of the Arctic brand vs. Beachcomber which is resulting in the vast amount of complaints or are Beachcombers just better built. The prices seem high but we haven't negotiated at all yet but for fully loaded tubs we are at 16,000 to 17,000 taxes in. To be honest price isn't super important but quality is, and having a good dealer close may be nice if things go wrong or even for me just getting the hang of water chem. We are buying maybe as soon as this weekend, any advice or info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Those have got to be Canadian dollars and as you say, you haven't yet negotiated. You REALLY should wet test each (preferably on the same day); that will tell you a lot about each and often will tip the scales in one way or the other. The keys when deciding on a spa in general are the wet test results, quality, faith the dealer will be there for you after the sale, what kind of deal you can get, etc.

Take your time and think it through.

The Arctic dealer doesn't have much inventory and only has dry models of their smaller tubs, however the Beachcomber guys have the 750 in both wet and dry and stock of their 750E version which supposedly has everything and then some more. I really like the staff of the local Arctic but their showroom is small and they can't even get some of the 7' models inside.

I like the beachcomber for their keep it simple attitude and low pressure sales, but there just isn't too many posts Good or Bad about them.

Thanks

In some ways, lack of problem posts about a brand can be more important than finding the glowing posts. Beachcomber has a pretty good reputation, I wouldn't be bothered if you don't see too mnay posts about them here if thats the way you're leaning.

They both seem to be regarded as good products by quite a few members of this site, so I don't believe I will be going wrong either way.

The water chem work is new to me as I have never had a tub before is it a big deal if my dealer is close or far, they both offer free water tests but I don't think I'll take the 1 hour drive for free tests. I have read the Nitro guide on water chem and I'm not an Idiot but the unknown is always a question.

Thanks
