My Hayward Super Pump stated acting up and finally went out today. I noticed a burning smell and the motor was really hot. I started watching it close and noticed it started leaking around the seal where the motor bolts to the housing. I turned it off and tightened the 4 bolts that connect the motor to the housing. When I turned it back on it stopped leaking but it still had the burning smell. I turned it off to back wash and when I turned it back on it sparked up where the motor connects to the basket housing and died. Is this something that can be repaired or do I need to replace the entire pump system. If I replace the pump what kind is the best to get. My pool is a 18x36 inground and the pipe size is 1.5". Thank you in advance I need to get it going asap.
