crower Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 Every summer wasps seem to love building nests just beneath the wood structure of my hot tub. Any ideas on why this might be and what is the best way to prevent them from coming back? Thanks Quote
david_bilton Posted August 5, 2010 Report Posted August 5, 2010 knock the nest down and put some Vaseline on the nest anchor then they will not be able to rebuild the nest in the same spot Quote

I like that idea of hairspray. Really not a fan of bug spray, the air injection system pulls from the cabinet and would seem to introduce the spray to the water column. Something I don't want to soak in. I used a little loose insulation batting around the perimeter of my skirt-shell seam (stuffed it in) and that seems to keep the wasps out. My other concern is ants nesting, I do use ambro granules around the perim to keep them out. I'm in a huge neighborhood (3k houses), it seems to be the single largest ant colony on the planet. Exterminators make a fortune here door-to-door. Quote
