2 Hp To 1Hp Hayward Northstar Swap?

I have a 2 hp northstar. is the pump housing the same on a 1hp northstar the same? id like to swap it out without having to cut and glue anything.

cutting, gluing, and installing unions for easier future maintenance is going to be easier and less time consuming than changing a moter, impeller, volute, etc. that would be required the way you propose IF the housing and wet end are the same.

Still doesnt answer my question. Are the pump housings the same? just different size motors?
