Being in the market for a pool, I've done much research, and my initial excitement of getting a fiberglass pool, has turned into fears of such a big purchase. I realize that any kind of pool can have problems but I'm now so confused about the type of pool to get. I now understand that the pool manufacturer washes their hands beyond the pool(install issues are not their problem), and even problems with the pool could be an issue after she's in the ground. For an industry that needs pools in the ground to survive, I find it funny that more isn't done to get them there!! Sorry for the rant. I was hoping that their maybe some people that are in my area( Toronto GTA) that can let me know of their experiences and can hopefully help me in deciding which way I may go. A $40000+ price is something that many have fears about spending. Thanks

Key is getting a good installer. We found one and our 3 year old pool is great. If the installer is good, it's an easy installation. We have a San Juan pool. I think Viking is recommended here by some owners.

Keep your head up Vaughan. I know this can be stressful, but remember that any type of pool, and anything we buy in life(generally speaking), can have some issues. Fact is though, fiberglass pools are gaining huge popularity all over the world because they are most consistently the best inground pool product for one's money. Such a statement may sound like biased opinion, but it's the facts. So please understand you're on the right track. There are some good builders in the Toronto area. It's actually a strong pool market. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly with any questions regarding your concerns.

Dear Vaughn,

I to did many years of research after growing up with a liner pool. I just had a 16x38x8 fiberglass pool installed and believe me when I say fiberglass is the way to go. The install crew was very professional and did a great job. 2 day job. easy to clean, no worries about the liner ripping, just a much better product in my mind, quite a bit more money but worth it. good luck!

Fiberglass pools will go in easily pretty much anywhere other than concrete and other type of pools and if leveled and installed right, there is rarely a issue... After you pick out the size of fiberglass pool you want you really need too be focus on the cosmetics (concrete) thats going to go around the pool, that's where you gonna save or get hurt on the money depending on how big you want your pool deck, what kind of coping, etc.

Good luck, and hope you spend alot of money.
