mommiegeek Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 I have an Intex Metal Frame 12' x 39" pool. We are going away for vacation for a week, and I was looking for suggestions on maintaining the pool so that we don't come back to an algae pond. Our neighbors might or might not be available, and I'm looking to worse case scenario that they're not available. This means that there will be no one to plug in/unplug the filter, check the levels and chlorinate the pool for six days. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I should add that we do have a solar cover that does a good job of keeping most of the debris out of the pool. Quote
tabbikat86 Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Well have you thought about leaving the filter on the whole time you are gone? You should probably use an algaecide too, that will help inhibit growths. And I'm not an expert but I would probably double shock my pool, to help ensure that chlorine will still be in the pool when you come home. And last thought, do you have a cover? I'm sure if you do, the cover will help keep out bugs and debris, but help keep chlorine in the pool b/c the sun will not be beating down on the water. That is just what I would try, although there are some people up here who may be able to give you better answers. hope this helps though:) Quote
pool express Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 You can use the pool cover for that time when you don't use it and it's prevent to leaves and debris. You use can use algaecide too. Quote
