Lilsweetpea Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Hi, We have a Doughboy 34' x 18' above ground pool with a Hayward 1 1/2 hp filter. We also use a frogger system. This is our first pool and it's our 5th season. For the last 4 years I have used test strips. After finding these forums and reading a few posts I see that test strips are un reliable. So... for someone who has nothing other than test strips what test kit/s should I invest in? Should I be worried that my chemicals may not have been truely balanced all this time? Quote
wsommariva Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 I would get the Taylor K 2006; seems to be highly recommended. Quote
Lilsweetpea Posted July 8, 2010 Author Report Posted July 8, 2010 Thanks... does this test kit cover everything I'll need? Or do I need this test kit and something else? Quote
wsommariva Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Not sure about that. Check the Taylor website Quote
quantumchromodynamics Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 The Taylor K-2006 is the best test kit. Here is a page of interesting demo videos. Quote
Lilsweetpea Posted July 9, 2010 Author Report Posted July 9, 2010 Wow ... very informative. Thank you for the link! Quote
quantumchromodynamics Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 I just noticed that you have the frogger system. I have to recommend against anyone using the Frogger System. Quote
Lilsweetpea Posted July 9, 2010 Author Report Posted July 9, 2010 Yes we do... what are the cons? Quote
