I purchased a 16 Foot Intex Round Pool with Salt water chlorinator. I am having a problem with the color of the water. The water had a green hue while i was filling it up from my hose. Everything is working fine with the pump and all. I had the water tested and they said it is perfect, chlorine level, salt, etc. I told them it is perfectly clear but it has a green hue to it and they told me to run the filter for a couple of days and keep cleaning the filter. I did it for 4 days and nothing. Does anyone have any ideas on what this is? I thougt it was iron and put in a metal out product but it clears it for a couple of days and then it comes back. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

My understanding is that metal-out (sequestrant) products are a little sensitive to chlorine, after you put it in and the water clears then you want to raise chlorine slowly afterward. I've never had to use one myself so if that doesn't work, somebody else will need to advise you.

We had that same problem so we bought a Pre Fresh Filter to hook up to our water hose since we have well water. It's supposed to hold back all the minerals. But you might not need one of those since you say you can get the iron out a few days then it comes back. I just keep adding Metal Out, I get the kind at Wal-Mart and so far, it is working great for me. I was told by my aunt to dump the whole bottle into the pool and let the water circulate. I use the cleaning pool net to circulate it also. In the next day it will clear it up. At least it did for us. So, just keep adding Metal out to the pool as often as possible.
