Hi everyone. I am new here to this forum and also to owning a swimming pool. I have a 12'x33" above ground swimming pool. I finished filling it up yesterday evening and added the chlorine tabs and some shock water. After a little while I noticed the bottom of the pool looked green and not white. I have well water so I have been reading some stuff online about it possibly being iron or copper in the water. I checked the test strip and all the readings are good. The chlorine level is good, the Ph is good also and the alkalinity is good. I was wondering if anyone had had this problem before and what can be done to make the bottom of the pool look clear again. The water is clear, when I stand on the front porch the bottom actually looks white but when I go outside and walk to the pool the bottom is green. I would like for the bottom of the pool to look white again. Was wondering if anyone knew what could be done about this. Thanks!

It sounds like metals, Try a metal sequestrient.

Yes, we put some shock water into it yesterday and I had all ideas that wouldn't work and when I took the filter out it was yellow, we have iron in our well water. I am gonna try some Clarifier cause I have read that usually helps and I will also look for some chemicals that help with metal if the clarifier doesn't work.

You would be better just using Proteam Metal magic.

I am also on well water so each spring when I top up i need to use a small amount.

Thanks! I just googled it and I will be getting some of that.
