I returned home last week after the pool was opened by the service company. I found the spa pump- it is two years old- leaking severely. The pool company came a few days later and told me that it was completely fried! I also notice a dead mouse in the filter and a leak from the pressure release valve. I was wondering why that pump got fried? Did they forget to prime the pump? Did the mouse clog something up for a short while? Should they have notice the leak before they left?

The pump is only two years old and is stored in a heated room over the winter.

They charged me 420 for a new pump. My neighbor put a penny worth of plumbers tape in the pressure release valve and solved the leak

suggestions?
