Hi:

I am a newbie to this forum. Recently a friend gave me a Coleman 105 Spa circa 1998. I have the unit on 220Volt Service which I also used on a Cal Spa Supra which was 20 + years old and larger. The Coleman has two filtration cycles that must be set on a minimum of three hours twice a day. I am attempting to keep the spa at 100 Degrees. It is covered with a Coleman spa cover and it is in good condition. I live in San Jose California and have PG&E and the spa seems to be pulling about 15 KWH per day. My friend on the other side of town has a Coleman Spa which is about 20 years old and cost him little to run and maintain a temperature of 100 degrees. This doesn't make sense to me. He was pulling 17 amps on his 220 line and I was pulling 20 (with the heater running) yet our energy consumption is radically different. His average KWH consumption was 17 KWH per day and that is almost what my spa is consumming(15 KWH). Different side of town, same energy provider.

I have just invested in a TED 5000 Energy Monitoring System trying to figure this all out. It will be delivered next Tuesday and to be honest I can't wait!

Any help from this forum would be appreciated.

Thanks,
