Swim Dude Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 My pool was resurfaced with fiberglass years ago. The tile and grout need to be replaced, but the company I spoke to said that it couldn't be done because of the fiberglass. They said a fiberglass pool can never be drained. Is this true? Not True... Always use extra caution when draining any pool. Take into consideration the amount of ground water beneath as it could cause major damage to the pool. Also, "straight walled" pools may cave in creating a "bow" in the walls if the water inside is removed. If you're replacing a tile border along the top, you shouldn't have any problem draining 10"-12" of water in order to do the work... I would suggest finding another company to do the work? I could possibly help, Where are you located? Quote
