G'day,

I have a fibreglass inground pool, which I'd estimate is 20 years or so.

It has a number of cracks etc though none are causing water loss.

What is causing a problem however, is that the skimmer box appears to be collapsing. Instead of a circular shape for the basket to sit in, it is a semi-circle, with 2 "straight" sides.

Whilst fitting inside the skimmer, the basket is not forming a proper seal, and leaves/etc are getting under the basket.

My Question:

Can I "push" the fibreglass back out into its proper shape? Will that just make it break? Can it be "patched" or is this going to be a big issue?

Thanks

Sounds like your concrete pool deck is moving. Concrete expands & cotracts according to temperature. I inspected a pool for an attorney & his client just last week with this issue being one of many I reported. You may want to strongly consider replacing the skimmer, repairing the cracks , & resurfacing the pool. If you don't, get ready for even bigger problems that will cost you big bucks to remedy.
