don pool Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Hello To all .... If you have time constraints like it appears you do, a fiberglass swimming pool will go in much faster. Please keep in mind the humidity factor involved in an indoor swimming pool environment. You may need to install a dehumidifier in the room, and also don't use standard drywall to finish off the interior of the room. Use greenboard or something similar that is intended for a moist environment. Covering the pool, whether it is with just a standard solar cover or something more expensive is also a key to keeping the humidity level down. I am a fiberglass swimming pool contractor that uses Aloha fiberglass pools. Try their website www.alohafiberglasspools.com I know they have dealers in your state. There are several other fiberglass pool manufacturers that service your area but I can't personally vogue for their products. Quote
auburn_girl Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 I fully understand because this time last year I was at same point. After a lot of research on pools and requirements, I knew that I wanted a Fiberglass Viking/CPC pool due to reliability and depth of size 8 x 18 x 6 deep. Through Viking I was hooked-up with a terrrible builder who was out of Winstom Salem/Charlotte. It's a long, but good story ....but we ended-up getting the pool we needed and building it all ourselves. It can be done. We live near Burlington and if it would help, you could call me at 336-449-4734 where I can share more info. We so love our pool and swiming while it was snowing a few weeks ago was worth it all. You can see it here: http://www.troublefreepool.com/viewtopic.php?t=3978 http://www.troublefreepool.com/viewtopic.php?t=818 the stuff we have in the pool that may also help you is: Viking/CPC 6,500 gal shaphire blue fiberglass shell 0.75 HP Jandy Stealth Pump (Filtration System) 0.75 HP Hayward (booster pump) { this was not needed and wish I had not done so- the enclosure and oversizing of the pool filter makes the difference} 4 HP Speck Pump - Badu Jet StreamII system Jandy CJ250 single cart.
