TuffJax
Help! Just bought a Tuff Spa a few weeks ago and have barely been able to use it as the water clouds up and nothing I do has fixed it. Today the water is cloudy and also smelly. The instructions that came with the thing said to put a teaspoon and a half of their sanitizer product in it weekly, and then to test it and use the chemicals they provided to adjust PH and alkalinity. I have done all these things and have never had the water stay fresh/clear more than a day or two max. When we went on vacation for 2 weeks we just drained it because God knows what we would have come back to. I should say, I know NOTHING about chemicals and how this works. The instructions said if water got cloudy to add "oxidizing shock" which the pool store didn't even know what I was talking about and suggested regular pool shock which didn't help a bit; another place had oxidizing shock, but its instructions were for 10,000 gallons and I was just guessing at how much to put in my 150-gallon Tuff Spa. So -- that didn't help, either. Does anyone have a Tuff Spa? How do you keep it clean? What am I doing wrong? What should I be doing differently than what the instructions say? This has been a huge disappointment! And a pain in the arse. My husband says he'll call Tuff Spa on Tuesday, but I was hoping other owners might have been through this? Thanks.
