  1. I benefited from your post!!! Thank You so much. I spent hundreds of dollars on chemicals and nothing worked. I read your post, ordered miraclear ($11) and BAM problem solved. Thanks again!!!
  2. My filter is only three years old. I did have some algae but vacummed to waste twice. As far as environemental concerns I have never had the problem in the past. I will try the skimmer sock. Thanks for the replies
  3. Hi Folks, I have a sandfilter and have to vacuum the pool every single day. The next day when I return the bottom is covered with dirt again I have vacuumed to waste and constantly backwashed. Anyone know what might cause such a thing? It's driving me batty!!! *Note* This has been going on for a month now.
  4. I have a Waterway sand filter. The last few days I've noticed my pressure dropping as the pump runs (from 11 p.s.i to about 6 p.s.i). I've also noticed alot of air bubbles coming from the return into the pool. When the pump shuts off all of the water in the strainer basket disappers. As it disappears I hear a loud sucking sound. When I take the strainer lid off it sounds sort of like when you open a plastic bottle of soda. I'm sure I am sucking air and was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems. *Note* I do not see any air bubbles inside the strainer lid when the filter is running. HELP!!!!
  5. I have a Waterway sand filter model FS016 for my 24 foot above ground pool. Last year when I was winterizing I had a hard time removing the multi-port cap assembly. I unscrewed the collar but noticed the pipe (that connects to the laterals) was stuck inside the multi-port cap assembly. In short, I guess I pulled to hard because the entire lateral and maifold assembly pulled up through the sand. This spring I removed all of the sand and attempted to put the assembly back inside the tank. I don't see what the pipe would connect to as there is nothing on the bottom of the tank except for a pre molded convex bump. The pipe is much wider then the bump so it can't connect. I'm beginning to think that maybe it was glued in (just a guess). My question is.....Is anyone familiar with how this goes back in. Do I have to buy a whole new assembly? My filter has decent pressure but slowly loses it the longer the pump is on. There are no leaks in the system and i just replaced the sand. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me nuts!! Thanks! Oh yeah, For some reason the tube continues to get stuck in the multi-port cap everytime I put the cap back on the filter. I have to pull and twist like heck to get it off.
