  1. Sorry to hear that you are having trouble. The Genesis System is not made by Arctic Spas, nor is it a factory-installed option. It is an after-market add-on from Pioneer H20 Technologies of Lakewood, CO. This is a known issue that has been addressed by Pioneer. They have a replacement kit with an improved electrode. Please call your dealer for this upgrade, which as far as I know will be covered under Pioneer's warranty. If necessary, refer your dealer to Arctic Spas Information Bulletin 482-080226 Genesis System Warranty which deals with this situation. I don't know about cleanup but will see what I can find out for you. And I've passed your comment about the loose wire to the manager of the service department of the dealer involved. Please discuss the rusty screw issue with your dealer. I will mention it to our purchasing dept and perhaps they'll add that to the supplier performance review. If you have further questions about the Genesis system, please consult your dealer or the system manufacturer (1-877-569-4377 or www.spapurification.com) ============ I spoke to Randy at Pioneer H20. He recommends a product called Soft Scrub (the non-abrasive foam version). I googled this product and was not able to determine if it is available in Canada, but it sure sounds familiar. My wife loves her Mr. Clean Eraser for a variety of cleaning tasks, so maybe try the unscented one. Our techs also suggest our own Arctic Pure Reflection as a good non-abrasive cleaner. Just wanted to let you know my Tub has been cleaned and repaired by Arctic Spa Oakville. Had my first beer in it last night, the water is clear, the tub is clean all is perfect! Big thank you to Tony Gray - Arctic Spa Randy - Pioneer David Calado - Arctic Spa Oakville
  2. I purchased an Arctic Spa in June last year (2007) since then the Bromine Generator (Genesis) has failed twice. The first time I started to get black bubbles on the water surface, the spa got dirtier and dirtier, to the point where you couldn't see your feet. The engineer came out and advised me that the bromine generator had failed. He emptied the tub, and fixed the generator then it worked again. The deposit of black carbon like substance was hard to remove from the tub. The second time the generator failed it appeared to leave the black deposit in the tub, not so much on the surface lower down in the tub, but the water wasn't as cloudy. The black deposit however was really hard to remove, the next reaction was the water went dark and the surface of the tub felt like sandpaper. I called the customer service, they sent an engineer he drained the tub and said he fixed the generator. He didn't clean the tub he said I had to. My tub is white and it is virtually impossible to get the black deposit off. I refilled the tub, and the flow warning came on, this was fixed by me opening the panel and looking at the area where the engineer had worked on the tub, a wire was hanging down and he hadn't attached the spade connectors, when I plugged them in it worked. The tub appears to be running again, the black deposit however is all over the tub in patches, on the side at the water level and has turned a pillow black. I have also now noticed rust appearing around the screws on 2 of the strainers, not necessarily related to the generator failure, probably from inserting the wrong type of screws at the factory. Just wondering if anyone else has had a Bromine Generator Fail and did they get the black deposit, any ideas on the best way to remove it. At the moment it looks so bad I think the only way to resolve it would be for Arctic Spa to replace the tub!
