  1. ..I recently had a fiberglass pool installed and am interested in a safety cover. There are a few different types with various manufacturers. Any recommendations as far as vinyl vs. mesh, specific brands, ease of installation/use and anything else that you would deem helpful would be greatly appreciated. Also, I only have the standard 3' apron around the pool..thanks for your help.
  2. In light of recent posts about Pool Designs on this forum I felt like I should relate my experience using them to install a Viking fiberglass pool. From the start we found Pool Designs to be helpful, cooperative and professional in just about every way. They met with us at our house and 'surveyed' the area that the pool was to be installed in and made recommendations as to what size and configuration would be best for our situation. Since we were having a house built it was a couple of months between the time that we put a deposit down and when we were actually ready to have the pool installed. When our permits were pulled they ordered the pool and scheduled it for installation. This all occured well within the time-frame that we had previously discussed when we put our money down. The pool was delayed 1/2 of a day due to the tunnel closure in Baltimore but still was on our property the day promised and thanks to some 'convincing' by Mr Michael Burke the installing contractor agreed to come the next day and install it. By that days end the pool was in the ground and full. In the next few days the electrical contractor completed their work, the initial inspection was done and the concrete was laid. There were a lot of things to coordinate and pull together for all of this to take place on schedule and the bottom line is that it all happened. The pool looks great and we can't wait to use it...next summer. All in all, my opinion of Pool Designs and Michael Burke is very positive and I would recommend them to anyone. Dealing with subcontractors can be challenging at best and a nightmare at worst, but the crews that Pool Designs hired for us seemed to do a good job and actually showed up on time and on the day they said they would. Just thought I should share my experience as I have found other's very helpful in going through this process.
